Vuelta Stage Report: The final stage of the Vuelta a España fell to Dutch National champion, Fabio Jakobsen (Deceuninck - Quick-Step) in a close sprint with Irish champion, Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe). Primož Roglič had no problems, and the Jumbo-Visma team leader won his first Grand Tour.

Vuelta Stage Report: Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) took his third stage victory after a long solo, this put the Slovenian on the third step of the overall podium. Primoz Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) guaranteed his win in the 2019 Vuelta a España. He had no problems on the last mountain stage, despite some attacks from Miguel Ángel López (Astana) and Alejandro Valverde (Movistar).

Vuelta Stage Report: Rémi Cavagna (Deceuninck - Quick-Step) took the win in the medieval streets of Toledo on stage 19 of the Vuelta a España on Friday. The Frenchman was part of the early break, then in the final 25 kilometres he attacked to go solo and hold off the peloton as they snapped at his heels. Primoz Roglic held the overall lead after a crash splintered the main bunch.

Vuelta Stage Report: The penultimate mountain stage of la Vuelta was won by EF Education First's Sergio Higuita. The promising Colombian had lost twenty minutes on the road to Guadalajara yesterday, but today he soloed to victory. Miguel Ángel López (Astana) provided the fireworks, causing Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) to lose time.

Vuelta Stage Report: Philippe Gilbert took his second stage win in the 2019 Vuelta a España. Stage 17 split into echelons causing problems for the GC teams. At the finish it looked like Sam Bennett (Bora-Hansgrohe) had the stage in the bag, but Gilbert swooped past for the win. Nairo Quintana (Movistar) took advantage of making it into the front group to move into second place overall.

Vuelta Stage Report: Jakob Fuglsang won stage 16 of the Vuelta a España on the summit of the Alto de la Cubilla. The experienced Dane of the Astana team was the strongest from the early break after a tough 145 kilometres of climbing. Primoz Roglic (Jumbo-Visma), Miguel Ángel López (Astana) and Tadej Pogacar (UAE Team Emirates) attacked the other favourites.

Vuelta Stage Report: Another crazy day on the Vuelta a España saw the victory go to Jumbo-Visma's Sepp Kuss. On the mountain stage 15 to Santuario del Acebo, the American climber was the best from the 'Break of the Day'. Behind; the favourites tested each other again and Primoz Roglic followed an attack by Alejandro Valverde to extended his lead over the rest of the top men.

Vuelta Stage Report: Bora-Hansgrohe's Sam Bennett won the Vuelta'19 stage 14 in a crash marred final. The Irishman was by far the fastest on the slightly up-hill sprint-finish. Maximiliano Richeze (Deceuninck - Quick-Step) was second ahead of Tosh van der Sande (Lotto Soudal) in third. A big crash in the last kilometre finished the stage early for many riders.

Vuelta Stage Report: The finalé of a crazy day on stage 13 saw two Slovenian riders blast the others off their wheels on the climb of Los Machucos. Tadej Pogačar (UAE Team Emirates) took his second stage win in the Vuelta, he and his fellow countryman, overall leader, Primož Roglič (Jumbo-Visma) rode away from the other favourites on the steep ramps, and then won the sprint.

Vuelta Stage Report: Deceuninck - Quick-Step's Philippe Gilbert won the twelfth stage of the Vuelta a España with a bold move in the final kilometres. Gilbert was part of a large escape group, the ex-World champion attacked on the steep Alto de Arraiz to solo to the stage victory in Bilbao. The peloton split with the top GC men finishing a couple of minutes for no changes in the overall.

Vuelta Stage Report: Home Basque rider, Mikel Iturria, gave his Euskadi-Murias a much needed win on the eleventh stage of the Vuelta a España. In the stage to Urdax, the Spaniard crossed the line solo after a blood-curdling duel with the remains of the early break, which had been given a free pass for the day by the peloton. The GC men finished 18 minutes later.

Vuelta Stage Report: Jumbo-Visma's Primož Roglič was the big favourite to win the individual time trial and take the lead of the 2019 Vuelta a España. The Slovenian was by far the fastest on the difficult and technical course to Pau in southern France. Roglič now leads the Spanish Grand Tour by 1:52 from World champion, Alejandro Valverde (Movistar).

Tour Rest Day No.1: Ten days down and it's the 2019 Tour de France first rest day. Ed is in a 'virtual' cafe in the historical town of Albi with a café au lait avec brandy and this morning's copy of L'Equipe. Time to look back over what has been a very good first week in the 'Grande Boucle'.

Stage Report: Cross-wind chaos! The damage to the overall placings today was not caused by mountains or crashes, but the invisible enemy - The wind. The race split with Jumbo-Visma's Wout Van Aert in the front group and the cross champ took some big scalps in the sprint. Losers on the day: Pinot, Landa and Bennett.
