    Race Report: Today was billed to be the final battle to sort out this year’s Vuelta a España and it didn’t disappoint. L’Angliru was the perfect place for the gladiators of the road to test each other to the limit and the oldest of them triumphed through the fog. We also had another young Frenchman show that cycling has turned the corner and is alive and kicking.

    Race Report: Today was probably an extra rest day for the GC riders and this allowed an early break to go up the road, but everyone knew they would not be contesting the finish at the beach in Tarragona. In the end the riders fought through the crazy final kilometres for World Champion Philippe Gilbert to show off the rainbow jersey in the best possible way - with both arms aloft!

When the cream came to the top he was there to deliver the decisive blow and the other top men didn’t see him again until after the finish. Stage and overall (again) for the American.
