    Tour de France

The Tour de France dust has settled and the PEZ team have had time to digest the three weeks of the French Grand Tour. Was it a good Tour? Who were the heroes of the road? The high points and the low points... Here is what we think:

The Ritchey Streem II carbon handlebar offers innovative shape, design features, and light weight. One of my favorite advantages of the carbon revolution in cycling has been the development of carbon handlebars - which has opened up endless shapes, sizes, designs, and stiffness characteristics that can simply not be had with good ol' aluminum.

TDF'16 Roadside: A day which many had hoped would give le Tour a Grand Finale as the non-canine contenders scrapped for the podium places behind top dog Froome became a grim slog as a fierce electrical storm turned the Joux Plane into a battle for survival rather than a battle for the podium. Callum and Ed were again there to savour every rain drop...

TDF'16 Roadside: Stage 19 saw some real action on the 2016 Tour de France and Ed Hood was there with Callum to 'see and tell' all the crazy happenings that unfolded before their eyes. Race Report: Rain and crashes caused problems for many on stage 19 to Mont Blanc, not least Chris Froome and Bauke Mollema. In the end it was Romain Bardet who was the hero of the day and with the Tour stage 19 win he moved up into second place overall and made France a very happy place.

Tour Stage Preview: The ASO certainly knows how to put on a spectacle. Each year, the Grand Depart is feted and celebrated, usually more for its cultural iconography than its significance for the actual race itself. So if setting the table at Mont St Michel, then it is only fitting to conclude the world’s most popular bike race in the shadow of Europe’s most iconic mountain, Mont Blanc.

TDF'16 Roadside: Sallanches is a mythical place for cyclists, especially French ones by the name of Bernard Hinault. This is where 'The Badger' won his rainbow jersey on one of the hardest Worlds parcour. Stage 18 was a time trial and our PEZman, Ed Hood was there to see Chris Froome dominate the day.

Race Report: An elite Classics-specialists finishing group on a beautiful stage to the Swiss capital made you think you were basking on a sunny spring Sunday. He left Alexander Kristoff (Katusha) battering his handlebars in frustration, the Norwegian beaten by centimeters.
