Dutchman Pieter Weening (Orica Greenedge) is the winner of the 2013 Tour de Pologne. The conclusive time trial in Krakow was a fascinating finale to the 70th Tour de Pologne, with two parallel competitions; on one side the challenge among the specialists against the time for the stage victory and on the other side the battle between the big guns in the classification to capture the GC. On the 37-km route from Wieliczka to Krakow, the fastest rider was Britain's Bradley Wiggins (Sky) with a time of; the Olympic TT champion chose the roads of Poland to get back to the top step on the podium, a podium of the highest caliber with Fabian Cancellara (Radioshack) in second place at 56” and Taylor Phinney (BMC Racing), third at 1’14”.

The winner of the first stage of the Tour de Pologne is Diego Ulissi (Lampre Merida). At Madonna di Campiglio on the finish line of the first of two historical Italian stages in Trentino that are opening the 70th edition of the Polish stage race, Ulissi beat Colombian Darwin Atapuma (Colombia), Pole Rafal Majka (Team Saxo-Tinkoff) and then Eros Capecchi (Movistar), Ivan Basso (Cannondale) and Domenico Pozzovivo (Ag2r). Far from the first positions of the group some of the most expected big as Vincenzo Nibali (Astana) and Bradley Wiggins (Sky).

Al.Ba. Sport will be dressing the Tour de Pologne, starting with the 71st edition scheduled from August 3rd to the 9th. The race will start in Gdansk and finish in Krakow. The four jerseys for the Tour de Pologne will all be styled by Al.Ba. Sport. The yellow one will be worn by the leader of the general classification; the cyclamen jersey goes to the winner of the classification in the mountain grand prix, the red one will identify the most active rider in the group and the red-white jersey will be rewarded for the special points classification and will also be sponsored by Al.Ba Sport.
After the great kickoff from Trentino in Italy, yesterday evening the Tour de Pologne caravan returned home within its national borders. After today’s day of rest the race will set off again tomorrow, Tuesday, July 30th, with the third stage from Krakow to Rzeszow Podkarpackie for a total of 226 km. After the Dolomite climbs of the first two days there should finally be some space for the sprinters in the group, but they’ll have to remain on the lookout for breakaways by daily attackers and another threat for everyone: the heat wave that’s been covering Poland these last few days.

More specifically, it will head to Trentino with its magical natural scenery of the Dolomites, a UNESCO Natural World Heritage Site.
Throughout the years, the Tour de Pologne and Trentino have enjoyed a solid relationship built on collaboration and friendship. In fact, after the extraordinary kick off from the Dolomites last year, the Tour de Pologne continues to be closely bound to this territory.
