The Glava Tour, a five days race in Norway ended today. Between Gjøvik and Hønefoss Maarten Neyens joined a breakaway. The twelve riders didn’t get much space. In the final three kilometers Gaëtan Bille joined the escaped Lars Petter Nordhaug, at 500 meters before the finish the two got caught. Norwegian Alexander Kristoff sprinted to his third stage win. His fellow countryman Edvald Boasson Hagen is his own successor to win the GC. In the overall classification Gaëtan Bille finished fifth at 53”.
On Wednesday 15th of May the Glava Tour in Norway will start. This five days race through the south of Norway is part of the Europe Tour. All stages, except the fourth one between Brumenddal and Lillehammer, finish with some local laps. In each stage bonification seconds can be picked up at the intermediate sprints and at the finish. There are 8 climbs where points can be collected for the mountain classification.
Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will broaden its reach when it lines up in the Glava Tour of Norway (May 15-19 / UCI 2.1) on Wednesday.
The Blanco Pro Cycling Team will start the Glava Tour of Norway on Wednesday, 15 May, with a very motivated Lars Petter Nordhaug. “It’s going to be a very special race for me. Not only are we riding through my country, but right through my own region”, according to Nordhaug.
