    PEZ Roadside Stage 9: Bagnorres-de-Bigorre: if you win here, you're good - and it usually means you've arrived via climbs that make up the 'circle of death', on roads once raced by Geminiani, Janssens, Anquetil, and Jimenez. Today it was 6 hours in the car - driving the full course to see it for myself.

    Stage 9 Analysis: This was one of those strange, in-between days at the Tour de France. The Col de Peyresourde is a hard climb, and so is the Col d’Aspin, but the overall layout of the stage meant it wasn’t difficult enough for the biggest dogs to bare their teeth.
