Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced the selection that will participate in Tour de Suisse, a 1,301.4km stage race from June 8th until June 16th. The 2013 edition features a Stage 1, 8.1km TT, chances for climbers in the mountains for Stage 2 (161km) and Stage 7 (206km), and a final stage TT of 26.8km, which includes an uphill approach to the finish. There are multiple medium mountain stages, and a sprint finale is most likely on Stage 4.
Team MTN-Qhubeka p/b Samsung will line up in the GP du canton d’Argovie/G.P. Gippingen (June 6/UCI 1.1) on Thursday. The race will be the team’s first appearance in Switzerland and according to sports director Jens Zemke, will race with the goal of making an impact in its Swiss debut. Gerald Ciolek will make his first appearance since winning a stage in Bayern Rundfahrt while Sergio Pardilla has finished in the top ten of the race previously.
Thanks to a wildcard, NetApp-Endura will be competing for the first time at the Critérium du Dauphiné, which starts next Sunday. The tour is considered one of the most important races on the international racing calendar. The 65th edition of the Dauphiné kicks off in Switzerland. All together, the tour will include eight stages, covering 1,117 km through southeastern France. This is the seventh wildcard for a WorldTour race, which Team NetApp - Endura received so far this season.
