Is it a road bike? cross bike? or a gravel bike? Who cares about definitions it's a fun bike! Our returning Readers' Rigs alumni Joey from San Francisco is back again in Readers' Rigs with yet another bike that has some struggling to define it but that can't keep the smile off of Joey's face everytime he rides it, a sweet Specialized Crux E5 cross frame built up with American Classic 27.5 tubeless wheels, Sram Red and more.
From the woods of Hong Kong, Pez fan Ed sent us in this story of his custom Colossi XCR that has clocked up miles in a number of different countries and has even had a respray or two...it's Readers' Rigs time from South East Asia!
Our PEZ-man in Spain has been promising to tell us all about his 'Writer's Rig' for about twelve years and just when he is thinking of replacing his present Campagnolo equipped Time Edge, he has put finger to lap-top to give us the run down on his present steed. Let's hope it's not another twelve years before we hear about his next bike.
At seventy years old our reader today Albert from Massachusetts is carving up the beautiful back country roads of his state on a brand new Cannondale SuperSix Evo Hi-Mod decked out with Dura-Ace, Zipp 303's and more. He loves it so much that it is supposed to be his 'last' bike....
Our reader today Benjamin from France has made his passion for cycling his work by producing his own carbon wheels for an ever growing clientele in France. Recently he's increased his business to carbon frames as our man in France, Chris recently found out on a trainin ride where he came across Benjamin on a very flashy looking red, Basaltwheels RLX Blackline.
Reader Chris from California or 'Big Chris' as he's known has got one big bike to go with his 6ft6in body - A 63cm Cannondale SuperSIX Evo Carbon kitted out with Ultegra Di2 and DuraAce wheels and there's nothing more he loves then riding down the South Pacific Highway on his steed as he explains....
Cannondale's SuperSix Evo has been a popular bike all over the world and today we have one reader who is certainly in love with the model - and the brand having a couple of Cannondales in his collection in South Africa. The SuperSix Evo featured today is light, stiff and looks damned fine - what else could you want as reader Raymond explains....
You just can't beat steel and Brain Tjaden in Sausalito, California is in love with his lugged, handmade Mondonico shod with Shimano Dura Ace. This is no 'Old Classic' but a modern bike made in the Classic style... and style it has by the bucketful.
Reader's Rig: Trek's popular Project One project has taken off around the world with many singing their praises like today's reader Alexander from Florida USA who sent us in some photos and info on his Madone 9 Project One with Enve wheels and SRAM RED eTAP.
Reader's Rig: As a longtime lover of custom bikes, PEZ fan Greg from Pennsylvania couldn't help but get another custom rig when it came time to get a new bike, a Kelly bedford Custom in a very sharp looking green paint job with Sram Red 22 and Mavic wheels.
Reader's Rig: Back in the 1990's Colnago was the dream of many cyclists and it was certainly the case for today's reader, Peter from the UK. Peter actually bought his rare Tecnos frame back in that era and has lovingly cared for it ever since.
After reading about a classic bike restoration here on Pez, reader Paul from Oregon couldn't help but perform a resto of his own. His weapon of choice is this 1963 Cinelli Supercorsa that thanks to some fine restoration looks just as fine as the day it was sold over half a century ago.
Sometimes a Readers' Rig doesn't have to be a much loved heirloom or a custom bling machine, it could also be an off the rack new bike like today's reader Jonathon from Oakland with his Giant TCR Advanced SL1. There's nothing quite like that new bike feeling as Jonathon explains when he talks about his red and black beauty.
We've had everything from custom carbon, aero wonder superbikes and even museum stunners featured in Readers' Rigs but we've never had a bull horned, custom steel bike until today. Kevin from Lancanshire's unique steel ride certainly qualifies for Readers' Rigs though as he and his machine have a very cool story behind their time together that includes over 25 years of ownership of ups and downs and thousands upon thousands of miles.
Just over two years since his last appearance in Readers' Rigs, Pez fan Joey from San Fransisco is back with a new rig - a very smartly presented black Specialized E5 Smartweld. Quite a difference from his loud and proud pink ride previously featured on Pez.
Today's Readers' Rig is a large Ridley Helium SL decked out in retro Lotto colors that is a new addition to reader Steve's stable of bikes but one that he is already well and truly in love with.
Today's Readers' Rig is a custom steel effort with a difference being designed after a Shimano promotional poster from the '80's. With the frame copied perfectly from the poster the owner himself then hit the spraybooth to paint his creation with the result being such a cool bike that Shimano themselves bought it.
Today's Readers' Rig comes from our youngest ever submitter with a very sweet custom carbon Evo Devo bike with SRAM Red. Not bad for an aspiring eleven year old racer!
Todays Readers' Rig is a first, our first track bike and not just any track bike, but a quadruple US National champion winning bike. Maddie Godby has only been riding her Fuji Elite track bike since August this year and so far the pairing has been a match made in heaven.
For today's Readers' Rigs we head north to Canada where we find one of France's favorite machines, a LOOK 695 Light decked out in Dura-Ace Di2 and with Easton Carbon Clinchers on board.
