He is at the start of the 2014 Vuelta a España in Jerez to compete in his 10th Grand Tour in a row. Ed Hood got hold of the Lotto Belisol rider in the South of Spain.

Interview: As the Vuelta looms ever-closer PEZ speaks to a man whose team will be making history in the race as the first ever African squad to ride a Grand Tour. The Professional Continental team MTN-Qhubeka will start the Vuelta this coming Saturday and although they've already achieved a lot just by getting to the race, their expectations are still high.

He scored 139 professional wins, including the Three days of De Panne an amazing five times, Ghent-Wevelgem, The Tour of Flanders and, in 1987, Paris-Roubaix. It was one of the most savage editions of the race, ever with only 47 finishers from 192 starters. Ed Hood caught up with Eric to talk about that day and his other career highlights.

At first glance, an interview with Matt Fritzinger, the founder of the National Interscholastic Cycling Association (NICA), wouldn't seem to be too much down the alley of your typical PEZ story - they race mountain bikes. Take a step back though and imagine what it could have/would have been like to be a part of NICA as a high schooler...the possibilities! NICA is bringing thousands of teenagers into the sport of cycling, and that is a story worth talking about. Fear not for the future of our sport.
