    More bureaucratic troubles are upsetting Team Colombia’s riders in the view of Giro d’Italia, and not only that. In fact, the UK Embassy in Italy did not return their passports to the Colombian riders, who had filed for UK Visas – with a urgent procedure – on April 10th and 14th. Claudio Corti’s team was supposed to fly to the Tour of Turkey tomorrow, April 25th, but now the team’s participation to the race is seriously at risk.

    Minda Dentler added her name to the Ironman World Championship history books on October 12, 2013 with her 14:39:14 finish in Kona, becoming the first official woman handcyclist to complete this event. Only using her arms for 140.6 miles, Minda is also the only female paraplegic to complete two full-distance Ironman races. Minda’s legs are paralyzed due to contracting polio in India and she eventually started to participate in athletics as an adult.

    Omega Pharma - Quick-Step Cycling Team has announced the selection for Presidential Cycling Tour of Turkey. The 1174 kilometer race, from April 27th to May 4th, will have several stages for the sprints, but also some chances for the climbers. The third stage will be the first chance for the GC riders to make their mark. The stage, from Finike to Elmali, finishes on Category 1 Gogubeli Pass. However, there is also a Category 1 climb, Kuruovabeli, at kilometer 104.8 of 185.

    Tomorrow the 78th Flèche Wallonne takes place. This WorldTour race is the second part of the Ardennes triptych. The start will be given in Bastogne, the finish lies of course on the Mur de Huy. It’s only after 83 of 199 total kilometers we find the first climb on the course, that’s the Côte de Bellaire. After a passage over the Côte d’Ahin the riders have to get over the Mur de Huy for the first time. The climb has a length of 1.3 kilometers and an average gradient of 9.3% with a maximal ramp of 19%!
