The day before Paris-Roubaix amateurs had an opportunity to ride the storied cobbles themselves during the Paris-Roubaix Sportive. For those not willing to publicly display their pavé riding ineptitude, on the same day to the east another sportive mirroring a pro course provided an opportunity to publicly display one’s climbing ineptitude instead. A Readers' Rig could be anything from a modern classic to a vintage steely, a lightweight carbon or more - but why not all of the above? Canadian PEZ fan, Jim has 4 bikes that easily qualify as Readers' Rigs so we decided to feature all four - a Trek 5200, a Colnago C50, a 1988 Marinoni Special and a Guru Photon.

Roadside Report: Amongst the thousands of crazies roadside in the dust at Paris-Roubaix on Sunday was our own Lee Rodgers who was chasing the race with Velo Classic Tours. Seeing the Hell of the North live is a once in a lifetime experience and just like Lee's ride across these hellish roads a couple days prior, this day was nothing short of ‘epic’.

David Pearce did all that and more at Paris-Roubaix, and lucky for us - he recorded the day on his camera.

The Amstel Gold Race is on this Sunday around the hills and traffic furniture laden streets of Holland's Limburg province and it's a brutal race of attrition defined by more than 30 hills. With more twists and turns than a good detective novel the winner is often decided only in the closing kilometers. Ed Hood takes a look at the course and contenders for 2014.

The Amstel Gold Race signals the start of the Ardennes Classics, and the first signs of who's looking good for the Giro. Raced over the hills, dales, and forests of south eastern Holland, the course selects its own worthy winner. Almost 20 years ago it was Mauro Gianetti who was making the news.

Confidence is the single most important mental factor in cycling. I define it as how strongly you believe in your ability to achieve your cycling goals. Confidence is so important because you may have the fitness to ride well, but if you don’t believe in that fitness, then you won’t ride up to your capabilities.

Race Report: Crashes, attacks, punctures - it was the beautiful mayhem that we love about Paris-Roubaix as Patrick Lefevre's OmegaPharma-Quickstep squad again showed their strength in numbers and tactics as Niki Terpstra surged clear in a late solo move to take the biggest win of his career.

He scored 139 professional wins, including the Three days of De Panne an amazing five times, Ghent-Wevelgem, The Tour of Flanders and, in 1987, Paris-Roubaix. It was one of the most savage editions of the race, ever with only 47 finishers from 192 starters. Ed Hood caught up with Eric to talk about that day and his other career highlights.

One of the best parts of travel is eating, and drinking, the different and delicious tastes from another part of the world. Pez's Lee Rodgers just had the best meal of his life in a Belgium, but it should be no surprise as exquisite dining is also part of Velo Classic Tours' raison d'etre. Prepare to drool...

Best Of PEZ:The culmination of my visit to Holy Week was the long anticipated, much feared, and never completed ride across the parcours of Paris-Roubaix. Finally I learned what it was like to battle the toughest roads in northern France and earn my own lap of honour at the Roubaix velodrome.
