Levi Leipheimer is back and hopes to return to his winning ways this year at the Tour of California.

Andy Schleck and a slew of other Tour de France contenders are using the Tour of California as a May primer for the big dates to come.

Chris Horner was all smiles at the start.

Thor Hushovd.

The day’s break: Jamey Driscoll, Laszlo Bodrogi, and Timon Seubert.

The field weren’t too worried – there was to be a sprint, whether the break liked it or not.

Saxo Bank took up the reins in Sacramento, but in the end, it was all Sky at the front with Swift coming through for the win.

Swift shares a few words with the inimitable, Dave Towle.

Jamey Driscoll was awarded with the most aggressive rider, er, courageous rider jersey for his efforts in the break in Stage 2.

Peter Sagan – a familiar sight on the podium.

Ben Swift enjoys his kisses.
