The legendary climb to Mont Ventoux closed out the second week of the Tour de France. It was an extremely exciting week for Sidi Sport thanks to the extraordinary efforts of our champions.
Let’s begin right there at Ventoux where Kenyan Chris Froome signed his name by winning the stage solo, with no rivals, further increasing his advantage in the general classification where he now commands with 4’14” over Bauke Mollema and 4’25” ahead of Alberto Contador.
It was a glory day for Sidi on Mont Ventoux: first Chris Froome (Sky), second the Colombian Nairo Quintana (Movistar) and fourth Spaniard Purito Rodriguez (Katusha) all of them wearing their Sidi Wire shoes, the top of the line in the Sidi collection, which are confirming themselves as the shoes of true champions.
Other highlights of the week include the Omega Pharma victory with the superb Matteo Trentin in Lyons at the end of a long, courageous break and the World Champion against the stopwatch Tony Martin in the time trial at Mont-Saint-Michel right ahead of the yellow jersey Chris Froome. Of course, with them, too, there are always Sidi Wire shoes.
In addition, Sidi Sport continues wearing all the 4 jerseys of the Tour de France with great pride. The leader’s yellow jersey and the polka dot jersey for the GPMs are both on the back of Chris Froome, the green jersey for the points’ rankings is being worn by Peter Sagan from Team Cannondale Pro Cycling, the formation that is entirely Sidi branded, while the white jersey distinguishing the best young rider belongs to Nairo Quintana.
Tuesday the race picks up again with the arrival at Gap and there are sure to be plenty more thrills all the way to the Champs Elysées in Paris.
