Tinkoff-Saxo Presents Rasmus Guldhammer as Stagiaire
tinkoff-saxonew Tinkoff-Saxo has signed Danish rider, Rasmus Guldhammer, as a stagiaire for the remainder of 2014. A strong season by Guldhammer has gained the attention of Tinkoff-Saxo and the team has decided to give the 25-year old the opportunity to prove himself at the highest level.

“I’m happy to present Rasmus and to welcome him onboard Tinkoff-Saxo for the rest of 2014 as a stagiaire. I took the decision together with the sport directors after having followed him for a while. He’s a rider with a good acceleration and he knows how to perform in hilly terrain with a lot of changes in pace”, says Team Manager Bjarne Riis.

Guldhammer currently races for the Danish Continental Team Trefor – Blue Water but rode at WorldTour level at HTC – Columbia in 2010.

During the 2014-season, Guldhammer has done a good job with 3 wins and several top-10 results.

“He has great talent but lacked some experience and maturity back in 2010. But he has developed since then and this season I’ve seen the talent that I know he’s got. And now he gets a chance to prove that he can make it at this level”, explains Bjarne Riis, who adds that Guldhammer will very likely be sent into action as early as Tour of Colorado and Tour of Britain.

Rasmus Guldhammer himself got the message few days ago and received the good news with excitement.

“I’m very happy. It’s a great opportunity for me to show my qualities as a rider. I ride with more experience now and my focus will be on supporting the team and showing that I’m capable of performing at this level”, explains Rasmus Guldhammer and continues:

“My focus is on helping the team and the team captains. But I’ll also try to create a good result if the opportunity comes. I take this as a sign of confidence from Bjarne and the team. I believe they noticed that I’ve worked hard this year and for me and my career it’s definitely a step in the right direction”, he concludes.
