“For our company it is an enormous source of pride to become partners and official suppliers to such an important race on the UCI World Tour calendar as the Tour de Pologne. In addition to supplying all the jerseys for the various rankings, we wanted to further commit by also becoming the main sponsors of the white-red jersey for the points classification,” explains Domenico Altomonte, President of Al.Ba. Sport Polska, whose CV vaunts several experiences in sports enterprises, especially as a manager in the world of soccer since 1994 in clubs like Reggina, Padova, Rovigo and Giorgione.
“The company Headquarters for Al.Ba. Sport is in Italy but it’s been about a year now since we opened a branch in Poland,” says Altomonte. “As a sports and media event, the Tour de Pologne can be considered as the most important sports event in Poland. It is very well known and closely followed by everyone, not just two wheeling fans. We really believe in this new partnership with the Lang Team and we are going to contribute everything we have, and all the passion we’ve always been known for, to be worthy of such an important event. Cycling was not a part of our core business, which up to now has consisted mainly of soccer, volleyball and basketball, but from the meetings we had with Czeslaw Lang we’ve come to understand that both parties have plenty of potential to be reciprocally useful to one another.”
“We are sure that we have found a high profile partner with Al.Ba Sport,” confirms General Director for the Tour de Pologne, Czeslaw Lang. “The jerseys are one of the most important calling cards for a stage race, they are the most recognisable symbols that distinguish the race and its stars. I’m certain that this new partnership will greatly benefit both sides.”
“We signed a three year deal with the Tour de Pologne that will last until 2016,” Altomonte continues explaining. “Besides the jerseys, we will be at the starting and finish lines of every stage with our company stand. We will also design a line of clothing entirely dedicated to the Tour de Pologne that will be available during the race and for sale in the months leading up to it. Furthermore, as of June 1st the official uniform for the 2014 Tour de Pologne will be on sale, with its jersey celebrating the 71st edition. The outfits will be revealed on March 20th, during the official presentation of the race.”
