Team Novo Nordisk receives ProContinental license
logonovonordisk Team Novo Nordisk will again race with a ProContinental license in the 2014 season. The world cycling federation UCI (Union Cycliste Internationale) confirmed the license for the world’s first all-diabetes professional cycling team. For the team, this means that it will race in the second highest racing league and is theoretically allowed to race in any race in the world. “The confirmation does not come as a surprise for us, but it feels good to fulfill all requirements in the first go already,” as Vassilli Davidenko said, Corporate Vice President Cycling Operation of Team Novo Nordisk. “The organization of the 2014 season is in full swing. As we received the license, we have a certain planning security and can now take the next steps.”

Team Novo Nordisk, which was successful on five continents during its first season, will start its season preparation in the US this time. The first training camp with the entire team will take place in Santa Barbara, CA, in December. “After a long season, the riders had a couple of weeks to take a breath, however slowly we start to get excited again. We are eagerly looking forward to the second season of this unique venture,” as Davidenko commented.
