Steven Lammertink Team Giant-Shimano stagiaire from August
logogiantshimano Team Giant-Shimano is pleased to announce that Steven Lammertink (NED) will be joining the team as a stagiaire from the 1st August.

Twenty-year-old Lammertink, currently of Cyclingteam Jo Piels was recently crowned Dutch U23 Time Trial champion, demonstrating his strength against the clock.

Lammertink also had a strong showing at the Ster ZLM Toer in June whilst racing alongside Team Giant-Shimano and he will be joining the team in August before lining up for his first race on 10 August, Prudential RideLondon-Surrey Classic.

“Steven really came to our attention after his good results in the Ster ZLM Toer and the Dutch TT champs,” said Team Giant-Shimano coach Rudi Kemna (NED).

“After studying his results and watching him race we see him as a big talent for the future and are eager to find out more about him both on and off the bike. We would like to get to know him better and see what personality he has, as well as seeing how he handles his quality as a talented time trialist – this is why we have given him this opportunity.

“We look forward to working with Steven. His first race will be in London and then following that he will head to the Vuelta a Burgos.”

Lammertink said of the opportunity: “I was very surprised but I am very happy with the chance that Team Giant-Shimano has given me. I hope to learn and get a good sense of what it takes to be a WorldTour professional, and also to show my capabilities.”
