Laurens ten Dam earns new contract at Belkin
belkin650 The Belkin Pro Cycling Team is very pleased to announce that it has extended its contract with Laurens ten Dam for two more years, though 2015. The team is confident in the Tour de France’s number 13.

“In the last couple of years Laurens has proven he’s a strong Grand Tour rider,” explained Sports Director Nico Verhoeven. He also referred to the 2012 Vuelta a España, where Ten Dam finished eighth.

Free role
“In the Tour, we allowed Laurens to ride for himself. He did very well despite the pressure,” added Verhoeven. “In the future, Laurens will have a free role more often in Grand Tours. In the Vuelta this year, he will lead Belkin together with Bauke Mollema. We have great confidence in Laurens.”

No reason to leave
After several offers, the 32-year-old Dutchman Ten Dam welcomed prolonging his contract with the Belkin Pro Cycling Team. “I’m very happy to be part of this team, working with superb team-mates and sports directors. I have really improved here as rider. I’m happy with the opportunities I have and continue to receive. Honestly, I couldn’t find any reason to leave,” Ten Dam said. “With this contract, I can ride at the highest level for two more years. Grand Tours are what I do best, and I’ll keep focussing myself on those races.”
