With 30 victories up to date -their fifth best mark in thirty-four years of history- before the last stop of their 2013 schedule, the Movistar Team are leaving on Tuesday for the capital of China to take part in the 3rd Tour of Beijing from Friday 11th to Tuesday 15th. Five days of racing will see the peloton contest their chances in routes suiting both sprinters -three flat stages- and climbers. The two key days will come on Sunday 13th, with no less than seven rated climbs en route to Qiandiajian, and above all Monday 14th, finishing atop the Great Wall in Mentougou -13km at 6% average-.
José Luis Jaimerena and José Luis Laguía will be directing a strong, eight-man group into the final event of the Blues’ season, including road race world champion Rui Costa. Alongside the Portuguese will be the Spanish champion Jesús Herrada, the Italian Giovanni Visconti, the Briton Alex Dowsett, the Costa Rican Andrey Amador and Spaniards Enrique Sanz, Iván Gutiérrez and Beñat Intxausti.
