For the third consecutive year, a pan-flat team-time-trial will get things going at Giro del Trentino. The opening stage, on the same route that opened 2012 edition, features a pan-flat profiles that will definitely suit the teams with specialists.

After a speedy start, things will get serious on day two, when the race will head out to Valsugana and through Monte Baldo Natural Park on the way to the first uphill finish to San Giacomo di Brentonico, a completely new climb for professional cycling.

Apparently a more relaxing stage amid two big uphill finishes, it might prove just as demanding instead, with a very tough 3km uphill drag to the line, very much in “Flemish” fashion. Ahead of the final showdown, the riders will endure a weary and lumpy route with almost no flat, that might well play into some one-day-race specialists’ hands.

Legendary Monte Bondone slopes will be the final challenge of the 38th Giro del Trentino, and the uphill finish of the queen stage of this year’s race. Through their final effort, the peloton will ride by fascinating areas before tackling the last 21 kilometers up to Charly Gaul’s mountain.
