Good first take together for L’Eroica and Bianchi, main sponsor of the non-competitive vintage ride with start and finish in Gaiole in Chianti (Tuscany, Italy). Famous champions and cycling fans, yesterday and today’s youngsters, men and women: more than five thousand riders wrote a new chapter of a timeless fairy tale on two wheels. Bianchi colored with “celeste” the Italian event with Felice Gimondi wearing rainbow jersey taken in 1973 and 2014 range’s model in the showcase at the Italian company’s booth in the expo area.
On Sunday October 6th, cycling fans from 39 Countries rode on the Tuscany’s Strade Bianche, with one-third of the participants coming from across the Italian borders. Forty Bianchi dealers and customers arrived from Italy, Czech Republic, Spain, UK, France, Netherlands, Germany and Australia to take part to the unique event, equipped with Bianchi bikes and a unique vintage clothing kit released by Bianchi for this special occasion. Bianchi Team’s captain was Felice Gimondi, wearing the World champion’s jersey to celebrate the success clinched 40 years ago in Barcelona ahead of Maertens, Ocana e Merckx.
Suggestions from the past melted with looks on the future: in the “L’Eroica” Expo Village, located in the former Cantine Ricasoli, Bianchi and his staff welcomed the visitors showing the 2014 range’s novelties, above all the Oltre XR2 and the Infinito CV with the new Countervail® vibration cancelling technology. Passion and innovation are keywords of Bianchi brand, cycling global icon looking at L’Eroica as a mix of history, tradition and a passion handed down from generation to generation, a passion for an old and always new fairy tale called cycling. And of course, Bianchi couldn’t miss it.
The next time on will be in less than 12 months, on October 5th, 2014: for Strade Bianche’s lovers, the countdown has already started.
