Belkin Pro Cycling Team News
logobelkin2014 Next year, the official start of the Tour the France will be in Utrecht. This tour summer, a group of children will have the unique opportunity to get acquainted with cycling like a ‘real pro’. Belkin Pro Cycling Team is looking for a Youth Sports Team, together with the Jeugdsportfonds (Youth Sports Fund), the Municipality of Utrecht and the Dutch Embassy in Paris. With a team consisting of nine kids, we will cycle from Utrecht to the Champs-Élysées in Paris in seven days, starting Sunday the 20th of July 2014 until Saturday the 26th of July. The goal is to get kids acquainted with cycling, start a sportive challenge together, have fun while exercising and to ask awareness for the Jeugdsportfonds. Teens between the ages 11 and 14 can sign up to enter the Belkin Tour Challenge For Kids, until the 15th of May 2014. They can do so via the website:

Fifty kids will be selected from all the applications, and will be invited for the selection day which will be held on the 25th of May 2014, near Utrecht. During this selection day, the kids’ cycling skills will be tested and conversations will be held with the kids and their parents regarding their motivations. These motivational conversations will be executed by professionals from the Belkin Pro Cycling TEAM and the organization of the Belkin Tour Challenge For Kids. Eventually nine kids will be selected, who will train under professional supervision by Team Belkin riders for three Sundays, so they can prepare themselves for this cycling tour. All expenses for the cycling tour from Utrecht to Paris will be compensated (food, drinks, hotels, bicycle, cycling clothing, helmet and any other possible necessities).
