Giro’08 St.3: Battling Bennati Beats Bruised Bunch!

  Today was billed as one of the few days for the sprinters and it didn’t disappoint! Names like McEwen, Cavendish and Zabel where the bookmaker’s choice for the win, Daniele Bennati wasn’t on the tip of many people’s tongues, but he showed the sprint specialist what it was all about on a day that staying upright was the hardest thing to do!

Giro di PEZ: In The Gods Valley

  Last night was another late one… I made it out of the press room at 10, back to the hotel at 10:30, shower and out to dinner at 11:00, then stopped in for a night cap at a local enoteca – and next thing I know, it’s 2:30 for lights out. Needless to say, today’s start was somewhat sluggish, but I’m now in Agrigento awaiting the finish.

Giro’08 St.2: Rockin’ Ricco Romps It!

  He talks the talk, and today, at least, Saunier-Duval’s mouth from the south walked the walk. As the finishing hills wrecked the peloton all over the road, Riccardo Ricco staked his claim to the Giro with a ballsy win.
