Boutique brand Tiso www.tisobike.com have announced their electronic 12 speed group set. And while some may think it not entirely unlikely that an Italian Cycling Manufacturer has launched something to coincide with the end of the world simply to get the hype, but avoid having to actually produce the product in a Timely fashion, Tiso have a first run of hardware complete and are simply finishing up programing options to allow this set to be more user friendly (accepting other group set casette sizes with some very basic button mashing).
The group is slated for availability in Feb and Tiso are aiming for a price point that will be quite competitive with other electronic offerings (none of which give a damn about making themselves compatible with each other…).
This group runs on a blue tooth wireles signal, and while the jokes are already running round the internet about people hacking your shifting, it’s worth mentioning that this group will have the same reasonable pairing protection that secures Cell phones etc. So while TV shows make it look incredibly easy to snatch someone else’s conversation, reality will be a different thing…
More to follow on this as we’ve been tracking this project for 4 years now and have an agreement with Mr T for one of the first sets for a project.
