    Race Report: It was a day that should have been about the climbs but in the end it came down to who could go down hill the quickest and Movistar’s Ion Izagirre proved to be the very best, giving the Spanish their first stage victory in this year’s tour.

    TDF'16 Roadside: Stage 19 saw some real action on the 2016 Tour de France and Ed Hood was there with Callum to 'see and tell' all the crazy happenings that unfolded before their eyes. Bardet was the toast of France as he crossed the line first on Mont Blanc, but don't forget the man at the back, Dan McLay.

    Race Report: Rain and crashes caused problems for many on stage 19 to Mont Blanc, not least Chris Froome and Bauke Mollema. In the end it was Romain Bardet who was the hero of the day and with the Tour stage 19 win he moved up into second place overall and made France a very happy place.

Each year, the Grand Depart is feted and celebrated, usually more for its cultural iconography than its significance for the actual race itself. So if setting the table at Mont St Michel, then it is only fitting to conclude the world’s most popular bike race in the shadow of Europe’s most iconic mountain, Mont Blanc.

    TDF'16 Roadside: Sallanches is a mythical place for cyclists, especially French ones by the name of Bernard Hinault. This is where 'The Badger' won his rainbow jersey on one of the hardest Worlds parcour. Stage 18 was a time trial and our PEZman, Ed Hood was there to see Chris Froome dominate the day.

    Race Report: Chris Froome as good as carved his name in the 2016 Tour de France trophy with a dominant ride on the uphill time trial to Megeve. As expected; TT specialist Tom Dumoulin rode into the lead and then had to wait for last-man off, Froome, to take the top step and yet more overall time.

    Tour Rider Interview: Ed Hood has been busy on the second Tour de France rest day in Switzerland, first catching up with Dan McLay and then Trek-Segafredo's Jasper Stuyven. Stuyven: Ex-junior World champion, Vuelta stage winner and tagged the 'new Boonen' but as he says, he's 'just Jasper'.

Ed Hood took himself to the Fortuneo-Vital Concept team hotel to 'have a word' with sprinter Dan McLay to hear how his Tour has been going.

The riders, team managers and the rider's agents are in negotiations as we speak in Switzerland. Ed Hood caught up with new rider agent and ex-rider Caleb Fairly to get his thoughts on the World of contracts.

    Race Report: An elite Classics-specialists finishing group on a beautiful stage to the Swiss capital made you think you were basking on a sunny spring Sunday. Once again, perfect positioning and a perfect bike throw saw Peter Sagan (Tinkoff) take another stage win on this year’s Tour de France. He left Alexander Kristoff (Katusha) battering his handlebars in frustration, the Norwegian beaten by centimeters.

    Mark Cavendish came out of Marcel Kittel’s slipstream and powered his way around the big German to take his 4th stage victory in this year’s Tour. The Etixx-Quickstep rider wasn’t best pleased but the sprint was judged to be fair and Cavendish will now hope to stay on with the race and win in Paris.

    PEZ Roadside: Our PEZ-man in London, Sam Larner, managed a surprise week-end in the Pyrenees to do a bit of 'Roadside' Tour watching on stage 8 on the Col de Peyresourde above Bagnères-de-Luchon. Not to miss out on any of the atmosphere, Sam joined the fans with his tent and a can of beer for the French Grand Tour experience.

    Tour Analysis: Chaos is the only word to describe the Chris Froome crash with Richie Porte, Bauke Mollema and a tv motorbike on stage 12 to Mont Ventoux. The pandemonium resulted in a significant time loss for Froome, but sanity prevailed and the stage results were taken just before the crash occurred keeping him in yellow.
