    Race Report: Marcel Kittel proved that he's in a completely different league when it comes to the sprint finishes in this year's Giro d'Italia by beating his opposition at a canter in the finalé of Stage 3. The big German not only took his second stage, he also strolled into the leaders pink jersey by 9 seconds ahead of Tom Dumoulin.

    Race Report: Marcel Kittel well and truly put his dreadful 2015 season to bed with a stunning victory on the second stage of the 2016 Giro d'Italia. Jumping from third wheel and simply motoring past the leaders, he was free and clear with plenty of time to power-pose his huge self across the line for a win that's been a long time coming.

    Race Report: Tom Dumoulin served up a Dutch treat at the Giro d'Italia 2016 stage 1 opening time trial by showing he's not lost any of his chrono skills despite mastering climbing, and took the opening stage win and pink jersey by the width of a pinky after a blistering ride around Apeldoorn. The big Dutchman only just edged out Primoz Roglic who took a surprise 2nd place.

    Race Preview: The 2016 Giro d'Italia route was announced in early October in Milan, Ed Hood ran an educated eye over the percorso to give us his view of the Italian Grand Tour. Three individual time trials, seven sprint stages, seven medium mountain stages - two with uphill finishes - and four high mountain stages - three with uphill finishes - and a total of 3,383 kilometres, with 42,200 metres of climbing.

The race is inspired by Paris-Roubaix and is run around the small farm roads of Leicestershire and Rutland in the East Midlands of the UK.
